Mrs. Marrian Pletcher Coller, 89, of Aiken, SC died on July 3, 2015 at her residence at Trinity on Laurens. Born in Lansing, MI, in 1925 to Carl and Margaret Leiger, she lived in Lansing Michigan much of her life, where she was married to her first husband; Richard Samuel Pletcher, for 33 years. She was a mother and housewife and later worked at Michigan State University in the Conference Center. She was widowed for 7 years and then married Richard Herbison Coller in 1982 and moved to Thousand Oaks, California. She lived there until his death in 2009. She moved to Aiken, SC in 2009 and lived at Trinity on Laurens where she enjoyed all the activities provided there, as well as walking downtown and attending the First Presbyterian Church. Marrian was an expert quilter, and had completed well over 50 quilts. She was an avid bridge player and golfer until losing her eyesight to Macular Degeneration. Reading was one of her favorite pastimes, and when she lost her eyesight, she listened to books on tape through the Society for the Blind. She was always ready to give, or go to, a party. She loved to dance and was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Marrian is survived by one son; Timothy Pletcher (Noni) North Augusta, SC, daughter -in-law; Elizabeth Pletcher of New Bern, NC, Four Step Daughters; Sue Haley Cottage Grove, OR, Mary Murphy (Rich) San Diego, CA, Julie Hadaway (Jeff) Kona, HI , Amy Hoover (Larry) Templeton, CA, Suzanne Carrel Glencoe, IL, mother of three of her grandchildren, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Richard Pletcher, her second husband; Richard Coller, one son; Steven Pletcher , her sister; Caroline Coller, one Step Daughter; Betsy Holbak and one grandson; Rick Haley. There will be a celebration of her life held at Trinity on Laurens, 213 Laurens St in Aiken on July 25 at 2:00PM.
