Memorial services for Mrs. Eleanor Isobel Willows will be held at 3 pm on Friday, August 17, 2012 at All Saints Anglican Church under the care of George Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Mrs. Willows, 72, of Aiken, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her residence after an illness. A daughter of the late Gilbert and Nellie Jenkinson Williams, she was born in Yorkshire, England, and had lived in Aiken since 2003.
She became a State Registered Nurse, graduating at the Royal College of Nursing for England and Wales, and was a nursing gold medal winner at Doncaster Royal Infirmary in Yorkshire. She married journalist Terry Willows in 1961 and came to the United States with their three children in1976, spending 27 years in Southern California before coming to Aiken in May, 2003. In Aiken, she was active in buying and selling antiques. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her twin brother, Richard Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Willows of Aiken; sons, Nicholas Willows of Gloucestershire, England and Desmond Willows Rebecca of Santa Barbara, California; a daughter, Louise Gonzalez of Apex, NC; grandchildren Justin and Sophia Gonzalez of Apex, NC and their father, Ivan Gonzalez of Los Angeles; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry and June Willows of Lincoln, England, Ron and Marion Hodson of London, England; nieces and nephews Paul & Jane Hodson, Elizabeth Watson, Lisa, Martin and Stephen of England; grand niece and nephew, Sasha & Danny of England.
Please join the family following the service for refreshments and a celebration of Eleanor's life in the church hall.
