Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Irene Emeneker will be held Friday, October 28, 2005 at 10 AM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, SC with Pastor Arthur F. Zawislak officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 27, 2005 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Emeneker, 71, of Aiken, SC, died Tuesday, night, October 25, 2005 at Pepperhill Nursing Center, Aiken, SC. Born in Covington, VA, she was a daughter of the late Russel and Bertha Alice White Smith. Mrs. Emeneker came to Aiken from Covington in 1981 where she became a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She is survived by sons, Steven M. Mize, Augusta, GA and John Christopher Tingler, Carolyn Covington, VA; daughter, Sandra Lee Craft, Paul W. Jr. Covington, VA; brother, Charles Nelson Smith, Joyce Covington, VA; sister, Catherine Griffith, Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Anthony Todd and Lorie Renee Craft and a special friend, Joe Kuhlke. The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mrs. Emeneker be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Ln, Columbia, SC 29210-1790 or the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 726 C Lowndes Hill Rd., Greenville, SC 29607.
