Funeral services for Mr. Grover C. Woodward, Jr., took place on Saturday, August 27, 1966 at 11:00am at Millbrook Baptist Church with Rev. John Wren officiating. Interment followed at Aiken Memorial Park. Mr. Woodward, 52, of Wagener, died Thursday, August 25, 1966 at Aiken County Hospital. Grover was born in Aiken, SC and was a 13th generation Woodward in Aiken County. He was an agent for Liberty Life Insurance Co. for many years. He was a past owner and operator of a grocery store on Park Avenue in Aiken, and had been a Captain in the Aiken Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Grover was also an avid quail hunter and fisherman. He was predeceased by Parents Grover C. Woodward, Sr., Emma Reynolds Woodward and brother Walter M. Woodward all of Aiken He is survived by his wife, Birdie Mae Woodward, Wagener, SC Children; Grover C. Woodward III Mavis, USN James Island, SC, Judith W. McNeely James, and their daughter Lori Ann McNeely, Robert M. Woodward Carolyn, USN, Stepson Eugene Bailey, Wagener, SC, Siblings; Gertrude Johnson Monroe Aiken, SC, Caroline Key, Aiken, SC, Martha Key Sam, Aiken, SC, E. Everett Woodward Anita, Aiken, SC, Harry L. Woodward Grace, Macon, GA.He is also survived by many nieces and nephews
