I first met George Gibson in 1981 when we meet with 25 other officers to form the Augusta Chapter of the Military Orders of the World Wars MOWW. He was a supporter during my endeavors in the MOWW and encouraged me to move up in the organization. I considered him a friend. I will truly miss him. Now, as Commander of Region V South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina, a donation in George's honor is being made to the OGA Mastroianni, Augusta Chapter MOWW Endowment Fund in behalf of Region V. This fund help support the Youth Leadership Conferences, something George was a strong supporter of; the patriotic education of our youth.
