Funeral Services for Mr. Lawrence Owsley Grimes, Sr., will be held 11am, Tuesday, July 16 at Aiken Church of Christ with the Mark Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7-9pm at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Road. Mr. Lawrence Grimes, 82, husband of Kathryn Grimes for 61 years, died Sunday at his residence on Clifton Street, Aiken. Mr. Grimes was born in Nashville, TN to John Walker and Irma Nowlin Grimes. He was a retired sales manager for Delta Foremost Chemical Corp. with 22 years of service and served his country in the US Navy. He moved to Aiken seven years ago after being a residence of Memphis, TN for 41 years; he has always been active in the church and was a member of Aiken Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; sons, Lawrence ?Larry? O. Grimes, Jr., Prattville, AL and David K. Grimes, Aiken, SC, daughter; Risa Anne Grimes, Chicago, IL, three sisters; Virginia Burgess, Brentwood, TN, Mary Sue Bomar and Sarah Frances Grimes, both of Madison, TN, six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
