Funeral services for Mr. John C.?J.C.? Woodward will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 2 PM at Redds Branch Baptist Church, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Jamie Rogers and Pastor T.W. Snider officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce and Harry Schultz, Richard Woodward, Frank Payne, Steve Mayhood, and Tom Tyler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 19, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mr. Woodward, 49, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Aiken, SC, died Friday, morning, January 16, 2004 at University Community Hospital, Tampa, FL. Born in Ft. Gordon, GA, a son of the late John C. Woodward, Sr. and Eunice Richardson Irby, Euless, TX, he had formerly been a resident of Aiken, SC, prior to relocating to FL. J.C. was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, NASCAR. He also had a passion for rodeo and loved bull riding. J.C. was of the Baptist faith and helped lead many people to Jesus Christ. In addition to his mother, a son, Jonathan Vance Woodward, Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Debra K. Payne, Hurst, TX; brother, Richard D. Woodward, Oglethorpe, GA; a very dear and close friend, Barbara Hanegan, Zephyrhills, FL; and his extended family, Ann Gainy, Chapin, SC, Joann Pye, Hockessin, DE, Peggy Taylor, Columbia, SC, Donnie Jackson, Columbia, SC, and Herman Jackson, Gulfport, MS, survive. In addition to his father, J.C. was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.O. ?Jim? Richardson, Aiken, SC, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Woodward, Bainbridge, GA. The family has requested that memorials in memory of John be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101.
