Funeral services for Mr. Floyd G. Tomlin will be held Monday, February 23, 2004 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 22, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Tomlin, 78, of Aiken, SC, husband of fifty-eight years to Mrs. Mabel Strickland Tomlin, died Wednesday, evening, February 18, 2004 at his home. Born in Oklahoma, a son of the late Pearl Francis Tomlin and the late Hazel Abbatt Tomlin Barnes, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC, since 1988. A United States Navy retiree, he was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also the American Legion. In addition to his wife, step-sons, Herman Strickland, Wellton, AZ and J.D. Strickland, Seven Oaks, CA; brothers, Guy Tomlin, Mt. Pleasant, TX and Sherwin Tomlin, Sacramento, CA; sisters, Lavonne Pointon, Torrance, CA and Twila Galbarth, Olney, CO; two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren, survive. The family has asked that memorials be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, GA 30904-4726
