Mrs. Lisette Noella Larson, 71, of Aiken, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her residence after a long illness. A Funeral Liturgy, Outside of Mass will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2pm at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken is assisting the Larson family. Mrs. Larson was born in New York City to Canadian parents, but she was raised in Quebec, Canada. During her career, she worked in banking and human resources in manufacturing. She enjoyed travel in the US, Europe and Asia which she took advantage of while living in Spain with her husband Carl for two years. She was an active member of the Women of Woodside and enjoyed playing golf, tennis and any kind of cards. She was a survivor of breast cancer since 1982, which drove her to be supportive of others in the same situation, including volunteering at the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina. Since the founding of the Savannah River Cancer Foundation in 2003, she had been active in its support and was a founding member of its support group, CanHOPE, which gives aid and support to those with cancer. In 2011, she was named Volunteer of The Year by the Foundation. Her courage and positive attitude while battling breast cancer was an inspiration to others. She is survived by her husband, Carl Larson, Aiken; two daughters, Danielle Ralston, Suffield, CT and Doreen Glissmeyer, Oakley, UT; two step-sons, Bryan Larson, Bend, OR and Jeffrey Larson, Baltimore, MD; a step-daughter, Joanna Larson, Bellingham, WA and a brother, Robert Grenier, Walpole, NH. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brandon Ralston, Detroit, MI, Megan Ralston, Suffield, CT, Lauren Ralston, Suffield, CT , Alexis Hanneman, Apple Valley, MN, Eric Larson, Bend, OR, Meredith Larson, Bend, OR and Ben Kakebeeke, Bellingham, WA Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, 235 Barnwell Avenue Northwest, Aiken, SC 29801.
