Shannon,
Since I was 14 in Sunday school I knew you and Alan would be a huge part of my life and became my second parents and loved me unconditionally. I love you and Alan and will miss him and our talks. I will always cherish the time I was able to have with him.

My first son-in-law, one of the finest men I've had the privilege to know. Alan, from the time I met him in the late 1960's was honest and committed to Shannon and later Alan Hay 2nd [ or Le Boy!] as Esther, his beloved Mother and my beloved friend called him. I learned so much from Alan and his family and eventually joined Town Creek Baptist Church after coming to the Lord Jesus the Christ and learned Esther, and Alan as well as Jim, Neild and Helen had been praying for me since they'd met me. I owe much of my salvation to them. My much beloved Alan continued to share his faith wherever he was and not only served in church teaching Sunday School but as well in other places such as the Homeless shelter in Augusta, Ga. I love him so much and look forward to seeing him and Esther, as well as meeting his father. Thank you Lord for holding Alan closely and taking him from his suffering to Your Glory. Hazel W. Goosey , Shannon's Mom

My beloved, dear Brother-in-law Alan, is one of the kindest, godliest men I've been blessed to know. He also was the best "big brother" a little girl in a family of girls could ask for! I looked up to him for wisdom laced with great humor! An unforgettable memory is when I was maybe 12, and was over for dinner at Shannon and Al's house. After tucking into the main dish, he looked up at Shan and said: "Shan, there's something wrong with this", pointing to the plate. He continued: "It's 'musty'!" "Musty?" Shannon repeated, looking confused and concerned. He laughed and said: "Yeah, it's musty- MUST have some more!"
I will miss you, Alan, but treasure all my memories, and look forward to see you again!
Love Always, Dianne
