Memorial Donations may be directed to the Aiken County Library, 314 Chesterfield St. South, Aiken, SC 29801 Mr. McMurtrie, 92, of Aiken, died Friday, February 25, 2011. His humor, intellect, and commitment to his family endeared him to all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife, of fifty-one years, Mary B. McMurtie and is survived by their children; Susan M. Alan Rutherfurd, John Theodore Jo McMurtrie, Jr, John Young Deborah McMurtrie, II, Ann Brad Stauffer, Cory Wilcox Darya McMurtrie, Maidi M. Thompson, Elizabeth Stuart and fourteen grandchildren.
