Obituary of Virginia Margaret Daub

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

AIKEN, SC-- Virginia Margaret Edwards Daub died peacefully in her home on March 1, 2018 at the age of 91.  She was the daughter of the late Harry and Irene Edwards of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Alfred Valentine Daub; sons, Robert Allen McClaverty, Jr. and Kevin Edwards McClaverty.

Jenny will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her daughter, Cary Frommer, grandson, Evan Frommer and his daughter, Bryleigh, grandson, Mick McClaverty, his daughters, Brooke and Paisley, granddaughter Erin Nuese, her husband, Brad and their sons, Jackson, Dawson, Nixon and daughter Cameron.  As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother Jenny liked nothing better than spending time with all her children and watching them grow to be the wonderful people who they are today.

She will also be missed dearly by extended family and friends that stretch across the country.
Most people knew Jenny as a 5 o’clock cocktail drinking, big loving, laughter filled spitfire. Hostess extraordinaire, known for her wonderfully creative parties; most notably her annual Kentucky Derby party. Being a native of Campbellsville, Kentucky, she was very proud of her Southern heritage.

She met the love of her life, Al Daub, at Fort Meade, Maryland where Al was stationed as a Military Intelligence officer in the Army. Jenny thrived as an Army wife. When it was time to move to a new assignment, be it Germany, Hawaii or Arizona, she saw it as a new adventure and an opportunity to acquire more of her wonderful antiques. Al and Jenny retired in Sierra Vista, AZ after his last assignment at Fort Huachuca where they had established so many enduring and wonderful friendships. Jenny stayed in Sierra Vista after Al’s death until 2004 when she moved to Georgia to be with her daughter, Cary.

Jenny had an amazing capacity for love and empathy for all people in all walks of life. She truly never met a stranger and was always there to help anyone who needed her. She was a huge advocate for humane treatment for all animals. Alex, her beloved collie/golden mix was by her side until the moment God brought her home.
Jenny was a woman who was tough and caring throughout her life and an example to all of what is the best in this world.

The family requests that anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Jenny Daub that it be made to the Cochise County Humane Society or to the SPCA Albrecht Center, 199 Willow Rd., Aiken, SC 29801 wwww.letlovelive.org.
