It is always a pleasure to think of Mr. Julian. Forty years ago, he spoke most kindly with a 20 year old who visited him to ask a legal question for a third party. Looking back, it was silly of me to intervene, but he never let me know that. It was a great demonstration on how I should conduct myself. He is part of the reason for the depth of my affinity for Aiken. My deepest condolences to the family.
Mr. Salley always conducted himself as a gentleman and as a lawyer should be. He was always ready to help anyone in need. We all have lost a great friend. Sara, you and your family, will be in our prayers.

My deepest sympathy to the family. One of my fondest memories of Mr. Salley was time we shared the sauna at a local fitness club. He was entertaining as he shared with me, his love of deep-sea diving. Especially, his many visits to the Cayman Islands
It was a great privelege to get to know Julian, learn of the history of the Aiken community and his role in shaping it. I especially enjoyed sharing chocolate chip cookies while he showed me his underwater photography and told tales of diving adventures. He was a man of great charm and warmth, and especially proud of his family. I will miss him.
