Obituary of Lynn Basil Myers

AIKEN, SC – Lynn Basil Myers, 82, died Friday, June 22, 2018.

Mr. Myers was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Basil E. Myers and Ethel G. Myers. He was a 1957 and 1958 graduate Lehigh University where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He received his Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from The University of Florida. His career was spent with various organizations including, Electric Boat, Gilbert Assoc., Battelle Memorial Institute, and Westinghouse. Mr. Meyers has been a resident of Aiken, SC since 1990. He enjoyed traveling, square-dancing, and assisting with tax preparation.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Myers was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Myers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Leonora Myers; three step-children, Daniel Martin (Jackie), Peggy Steinhauser (Gregory), and Timothy Martin; five step-grandchildren; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 6:15 PM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM preceding the service.
