Funeral services for Arthur "Art" Albert Williams, 80, of Aiken, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Williams, widower of Betty Jean Williams, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was a son of the late Claude and Marion Redmond Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of Southwind Fellowship Church. Art was retired from the US Postal Service. In his spare time he loved to read, travel, boating and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons. He was preceded in death by sons, Michael and Lawrence Williams and a brother, John Williams. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Swanson (Steve) of Aiken; a son, Gary Williams (Terri) of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Ruth Moore of Lexington, KY and Marion Weintraub (George) of E. Covina, California; a brother, Tom Williams (Anita) of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 grandchildren, Paul, Gina, and Kevin Swanson, Heather Marquardt, Brad, David and Matthew Williams; and 8 great-grandchildren.
