Mrs. Marlene Reeves Morgan of Graniteville died Monday, June 20, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will take place at 11am on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at South Aiken Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Crotwell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clark Moore, MD, Eddie Chalker, Wallace Seigler, Roger Ward, Jimmy Bunch, and David Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be David Moore, William Ice, and Tarrel Clark. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW. Marlene was born on January 22, 1932 to the late Doyle and Myrtie Reeves of Hokes Bluff, AL. She moved to Aiken in 1953, where she met her husband of fifty-seven years while she was a manager of The Hayneview Inn a boarding house owned by her uncle. She liked to cross stitch and garden. Marlene enjoyed motorcycle touring with her husband Don and spending time at Lake Murray fishing with her family. She and her husband joined the South Aiken Presbyterian Church in June of 1956 where she had been a very active member for over fifty-one years. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Bobby Dale Reeves, Hokes Bluff, AL. She is survived by her husband, Donald Morgan, Graniteville; two daughters, Debra Eddie Chalker, Paula Dr. Clark Moore and a granddaughter, Morgan Leigh Moore; a sister, Wilma Faye Lancaster, Hokes Bluff, AL; two brothers, Billy Kay Deborah Reeves, Hokes Bluff, AL and John D. Clarissa Reeves, Arab, AL. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers of Hospice Care of SC and a special thank you to Ms. Idell Wyatt for her loving care.
