Funeral Services for Clayton Ward Valley will be held on Friday May 16th, 2003 at 3pm at George Funeral Homes Southside Chapel 3175 Whiskey Rd. Aiken with Rev. John Wertz officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley. Visitation will be from 2pm until the time of service. Memorial donations should be directed to SouthernCare Hospice or the Aiken County ASPCA. Mr. Valley, 83, of Aiken, died Tuesday May 13th at his residence. He was born in Racine, WI and had moved to Aiken County in 1954. Before retiring in 1982, he was a power plant operator at the Savannah River Site. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard during World War II. A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, he also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Oliver Valley, two sons; Julius Burris, Columbia, SC and Clayton C, Valley, Oxnard, CA, two daughters; Linda Young, Clarks Hill, SC and Janet Blaich, Florence, SC, a brother; Richard Valley, Buena Vista, CA, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
