Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Saint Thaddeus Episcopal Church of Aiken, with Father Grant Wiseman officiating. A visitation will be held at George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Aiken Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6-8 pm. Charles was born June 30, 1934 in Warren, OH the son of the late Charles Thomas and Evelyn Marie Hogan Curtis. Having lived in Warren most of his life, Charles graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1953 and served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Upon his return from military service, he was employed as a design draftsman by Wean Engineering, Janco, Packard Electric & Thomas Strip Steel Corp. in Warren, OH and Dixie-Narco, Inc. in Williston, SC where he worked until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warren, OH and attended services at Saint Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken, SC. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shawna Outlaw. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Headlee Curtis of Aiken, SC; daughter, Marjorie Denise Roger Love of Barnwell, SC; sons, Charles Patrick Kristina Curtis, Jr. of Mt. Holly, NC, Craig Thomas Susan Kennedy Curtis of Windermere, FL; Christopher Paul Curtis of Clermont, FL, and Sean Patrick Brenda Curtis of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Kristin Renee Ashley Oswald of Springfield, SC, Stephen Paul Jennifer Davidson of Coeur-d'Alene, ID, Benjamin Alexander Black of Newnan, GA, Diana Marie Aaron Scott of Kingsford, MI, Britany Lane Curtis of Denver, NC, Travis Patrick Outlaw, Chad Ryan Outlaw and Keegan Shea Curtis all of Knoxville, TN.; 5 great-grandchildren Serenity, Calina and baby boy on the way Scott, Brody Outlaw, baby on the way Outlaw and Zachary Davidson; and a sister, Martha James Khoenle of Orlando, FL. The family would like to thank Dr. Mae Jean Englee and the staff at Graniteville Family Medical, the staffs of Regency Hospice and Daybreak Adult Care Services for their dedicated care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
