Funeral Services for Mr. Ray Oglesby will be held at 3pm Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken with Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Sunday from 2pm until time of service. Friends may also visit at the family home, 2644 Silverbluff Rd, Aiken any time after twelve noon on Saturday. George Funeral Home and Cremation Center 211 Park Ave SW is assisting the family. Augustus Ray Oglesby, 89, of Aiken, died Friday March 28, 2008 at the Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, GA. Born in Millen Georgia he was the son of the late Grover Stephenson and Daisy Johnson Oglesby. He was a member of the New Ellenton Masonic Lodge # 389, and he honorably served in the United States Army from July 26, 1935 until July 25, 1938. He retired from DuPont as a T & T Supervisor after twenty nine years of service. He was a member of the Millbrook Baptist church and had served as a Sunday School teacher. He was a devoted hunter and loved the Georgia Bulldogs. He is to be remembered as a loving husband and an extraordinary father. Mr.Oglesby is survived by his wife; Marion Kennedy Oglesby, Aiken, his daughter; Christie Jeff Gracey, Summerville, SC, his son; Steve Oglesby, Aiken and three sisters; Lucille Cole, Mae Sewall, and Rean James Rushing all of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by one granddaughter; Elizabeth Sanders, Austin TX, seven step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
