Funeral services for Ms. Elizabeth "Liz" Ashley Boyd will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2pm at Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene, Clearwater. Interment will be private. Pallbearers will be her brother and cousins. The family will receive friends tonight Thursday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken and on Friday from 1pm until the hour of service. Ms. Boyd, 23, of Aiken, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of Frederick "Rick" and Deborah Huff Boyd. A life long resident of Aiken, she graduated from Palmetto Independent Home Schooling, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from USC-Aiken. Liz was a Certified Pharmacy Tech at CVS and attended Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene. She took part in a mission trip to Belize with the New Covenant Presbyterian Church and a mission trip to New Orleans after hurricane Katrina while attending Aiken Technical College. Liz loved life and would do anything to help her family or friends. She loved to travel, exercise, and listen to music. Her main goal in life was to find a cure for some devastating disease. Liz is survived by her parents, brother, Jonathan Boyd, Aiken; grandparents, Rev. John and Doretta Huff, Aiken; step grandmother Marge Boyd, many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Frederick and Betty Boyd.
