Funeral services for Mr. George L. Ulrich will be held Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. S.W., Aiken, with Pastor Todd Smith officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Ulrich, 77, of Aiken, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
He was born in Nurnberg, Germany, to the late Paul and Margarete Balk Ulrich. He came to the United States in 1933 and became a U.S. citizen in 1947 and then served in the United States Army. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Springfield, N.J. He was the former president of Tri-Graphic Label Company, Inc. Before moving to Aiken in 2002, he had lived in Long Valley, N.J., for 21 years. Prior to that, he had lived in Springfield, N.J. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, traveling and attending concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne Rathert Ulrich of Aiken; and his sister-in-law, Hannelore Rathert of Aiken. He is also survived by his Aunt and Uncle, Emmie and Hans Balk of Sebewaing, Mich.
