Liturgy of the word for Mrs. Gertrude Rose Sheehan will be said Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 10 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC, with The Reverend James L. LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Martin P. Campagnola, Martin P. Sheehan, James F. Sheehan, Joshua J. Sheehan, John H. Tiller, and Dwayne C. Boyleston and are asked to assemble at the church by 9:30 AM on Thursday. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 7, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mrs. Sheehan, 86, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late James Francis Sheehan, died Tuesday, morning, April 6, 2004 at the residence. Born in New York City, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Rose Stewart Schmidt, she had been a resident of Brooklyn, NY from 1945 until coming to Aiken, SC, in 1969 where she was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. She was a former member of NARFE, the Aiken Senior Citizens Club and St. Mary?s Women?s Club. Sons, James E. ?Jim? and his wife Alice Sheehan, and Michael F. ?Mike? and his wife Cathy Sheehan, all of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Maureen Tiller, Erin Boyleston, James F., Martin P., Ruth, Rachel, and Joshua Sheehan, and great-grandchildren, Bowen and Samuel Tiller and Megan and Bridget Boyleston, survive.
