Obituary of Ann Marie Schreck

AIKEN, SC - Ann Marie Taperino Schreck, age 74, entered into rest Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta, GA, after a bravely borne illness.
Ann Marie was born February 15, 1943 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Dominick and Jennie Taperino. In addition to her parents, Ann Marie was preceded in death by a brother, Dominick "Junior" Taperino; and a brother-in-law, John E. Schreck (Eileen).
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard K. Schreck; two daughters, Elizabeth Schreck Cuoco, Aiken, SC and Dawn Schreck Drummond-James, Milford, NJ; two granddaughters, Madison Cuoco and Ann Marie Drummond-James; an uncle, Nicholas Romanelli, Manhattan, NY; and a brother-in-law, Charles E. Schreck, Jr. (Eileen), Edison Township, NJ. and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Ann Marie was a very active and caring individual. She was a two term Past-President of the Robert J. Slattery Marine Corps League Auxiliary Unit #206 in Whippany, NJ. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #91, in Wharton, NJ, Aiken Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Bingo Canteen Manager in the Columbus Club in Aiken, SC. Ann was also a Past Member of the 40&8 LaSociety de Femme Morris County, NJ Cabane.
She spent her working career primarily in the Insurance Underwriting industry at the Hartford Insurance Group, Rockaway, NJ. She and her husband had made Aiken, SC their home since 2006, having previously lived in Wharton, NJ. Ann Marie loved to vacation with her family and cruise in the Caribbean. She loved her family and granddaughter, Madison, immensely. She also loved her deceased shih tzu, Wendy, and her current yorkie terrier with all her heart.
Friends may call this Friday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM and 6:00 until 8:00 PM at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Avenue, Aiken. SC. A prayer service will be said at 6:15 PM Friday in the George Funeral Chapel. A Knights of Columbus Honor Guard will watch over the casket during the evening calling hours.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Old Historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 125 Park Avenue, Aiken, SC with the Very Rev. Gregory Wilson as celebrant. The Aiken Marine Corps League will be Honorary Pallbearers. Final prayers and commendation will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
