I wanted to express my sincere condolences. I had the good fortune to work with Charlie in the early 90's. He was a caring, principled man who made a forever impression on me. I will always remember with a smile the bow ties he wore to work. Since his retirement I always looked forward to seeing him at Aiken's Makin'. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family.

Ginny & Family: While at SRS, I and many coworkers with "Charlie" worked hard together on our mission there - Charlie created a competative environment for many of us young engineers and scientists that served us well in our careers. He supported and brought us along with his leadership and problem solving skills. He also gave us an appreciation for a well-dressed man in the office - with his enviable collection of fabulous bow ties he even got some of us wearing those colorful ties. Later, after Charlie retired from the SRS, I saw a different and happy Charlie at events around Aiken - he seemed to be especially happy with his garden related activities. Surely he also found "young starters" there to nuture into all they could be. Gods Peace to you and your sons and their families. Mr. Charles Sherman now knows Gods hands-on nuturing grace.
