Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Monroe Hires will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will be private. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Adkins, Corey Causey, Jerome Bank, Larry Rogers, Steven Hires, and Fausinto Martinez. The family will receive friends tonight Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Mr. Hires, 53, of Windsor, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Jesup, GA, he was the son of Alma Lucille Ward Handson and the late Herschel Lamar Hires. Bill lived in various cities before moving to Aiken fifteen years ago. He worked for Sam Temple Masonry. Bill loved remodeling houses and animals. He was a kind hearted person. He is survived by his wife of twenty five years, Eunice Cogdill Hires, mother, Alma Handson, stepfather, Harold Handson, brothers, Lamar Lee Ann Hires, Lake City, FL, Clifton "Mitch" Susan Hires, Waycross, GA, sister, Bernice Terry Varnedor, Midway, GA, several nieces and nephews.
