Obituary of John Patrick Walsh
John Patrick Walsh, born on April 10, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at his residence in Aiken, South Carolina, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the age of 86.
John's journey took him from the bustling streets of Brooklyn to a distinguished career in sales and marketing, where he was revered by colleagues and clients alike. John provided for his family with dedication and passion that bore witness to his generous spirit and commitment to excellence.
In addition to his impressive professional career, John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, instilling deep roots of pride and patriotism within the Walsh family. A community-minded man, John was an enduring supporter of organizations dedicated to serving veterans, including the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
A dedicated family man, John is survived by his son Michael and daughter-in-law Josephine Walsh, his daughter Kristen and son-in-law Nick Santoro, as well as his adoring eleven grandchildren. His loving sister, Grace Madine, along with her husband, Tom, all of Aiken, cherish memories of John’s warmth and unyielding loyalty.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Walsh Sr. and Elizabeth Walsh, as well as his cherished son, Stephen Walsh. He was reunited with his first wife, Veronica C. Walsh, and his second wife, Marilou Meditz Walsh, bolstered in eternal peace by the pillars of their shared joyous memories.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 2:00pm at St. Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church, 125 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801 with Father Orlando Serrano Ardilla as celebrant.
Friends and family are invited to visit The Historic George Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Aiken, SC, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to offer condolences and remember a life well-lived following John's indelible influence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VFW or Disabled American Veterans, honoring his love of country and enduring advocacy for fellow service members who safeguarded a legacy of freedom and bravery.
