Obituary of Betty Jean Fraser
Betty Jean Fraser, of Aiken, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at the age of 85 in Aiken Regional Medical Center following an illness.
Born on April 6th, 1939, in the small town of Sleepy Hollow, South Carolina, Betty was a cherished presence in the lives of her family and friends.
Betty dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, a role in which she created a nurturing home filled with love, warmth, and support. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her family, positively impacting everyone who had the pleasure to know her. She was a parishioner at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Alvin Fraser; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Chuck Wilson, and her sons and daughters-in-law, Scotty and Shondra Bush, Dennis and Donna Fraser, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Wilson. Betty was a proud grandmother to Eric Wilson, Kristy Wilson, Brian Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Brent Wilson, Dennis Fraser Jr., Silas Fraser, and Hayleigh Fraser; one great-grandchild, Joaquin Wilson-Garcia; and her sister, Claudette Shields.
Betty was preceded in death by her dear parents, Roy Lewis and Edith Cliatt Yonce, Sr. In addition, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mike Wilson, and her brothers, Harold, Roy, Thomas, and Wayne.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29803 (803) 649-6234.
Final Rites and Commendations will take place in the Columbarium of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801 at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 23, 2024.
A deep love and appreciation for nature were evident throughout Betty’s life, and donations in her memory may be made to the Audubon's Silver Bluff Center and Sanctuary, 4542 Silver Bluff Road, Jackson, SC 29831, reflecting her lifelong passion for wildlife and conservation.
