Obituary of Juan Francisco Paz Sr

     Juan Francisco Paz Sr., falleció pacíficamente el domingo 29 de septiembre de 2024, a la edad de 86 años. Nacido el lunes 27 de diciembre de 1937 en el encantador pueblo de Amatitlán, Guatemala, Juan abrazó tanto sus raíces como el viaje de su vida con un espíritu y dedicación inquebrantables.

     El querido hijo del fallecido Claudio Paz y Olivia Paz, Juan fue precedido en la muerte por sus queridos padres, quienes le inculcaron los valores del trabajo duro y la determinación. Con estas enseñanzas, Juan forjó una carrera respetada y exitosa en la industria de la construcción, donde tocó innumerables vidas con su honorable ética de trabajo y su profunda influencia.

     Devoto de la comunidad y la familia, Juan deja un legado recordado con cariño por todos los que se encontraron con su cálida sonrisa y su generoso corazón. Era feligrés de la iglesia católica de Santa María Auxiliadora en Aiken.

    Le sobreviven su esposa Felipa Hernadez de Paz; hijos, María Victoria Paz de Alegría de Guatemala, Dora Paz de Esquivel de NJ, Patricia Paz de SC; Carla Lorena Paz de Castillo of TX, Matalia Paz de Villa Zana of SC; Juan Francisco Paz, Jr. de IN, y Henry Omar Paz Hernández de SC; 2 hermanos, Lucio Paz Estrada, Gonzalo Paz Estrada; 20 nietos y 16 bisnietos.

     Además de sus padres, le precedió en la muerte un hermano, Nexi Felipe Paz Estrada.

     La celebración del funeral se llevará a cabo el viernes 4 de octubre de 2024 a las 10:00 a.m. en el santuario de la Iglesia Católica de Santa María Auxiliadora, 138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801.

     Los ritos finales seguirán en el Cementerio del Calvario, 1255 University Blvd, Aiken, SC 29801.

     La familia recibirá a sus amigos el jueves 3 de octubre de 2024 por la noche, de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234.

Juan Francisco Paz Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on Monday, December 27th, 1937, in the charming town of Amatitlán, Guatemala, Juan embraced both his roots and his life’s journey with unwavering spirit and dedication.

The cherished son of the late Claudio Paz and Olivia Paz, Juan was preceded in death by his dear parents, who instilled in him the values of hard work and determination. With these teachings, Juan carved out a respected and accomplished career in the construction industry, where he touched countless lives with his honorable work ethic and profound influence.

A devotee of community and family, Juan leaves behind a legacy fondly remembered by all who encountered his warm smile and generous heart. He was a parishioner at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken. 

He is survived by his wife Felipa Hernadez de Paz; children, Maria Victoria Paz de Alegria of Guatemala, Dora Paz de Esquivel of NJ, Patricia Paz of SC; Carla Lorena Paz de Castillo of TX, Matalia Paz de Villa Zana of SC; Juan Francisco Paz, Jr. of IN, & Henry Omar Paz Hernandez of SC; 2 brothers, Lucio Paz Estrada, Gonzalo Paz Estrada; 20 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nexi Felipe Paz Estrada. 

A funeral celebration will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00am in the sanctuary of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801. 

Final rites will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1255 University Blvd, Aiken, SC 29801

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234.
