Obituary of Phyllis G. Craig
Please share a memory of Phyllis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts, the family of Phyllis Grabowski Craig announce her passing on September 22, 2024, in Aiken, SC. Phyllis was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 6, 1936. She was the only child of Joseph and Cecelie Grabowski. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William Craig in 2022.
Living in Delaware, Charlotte, NC, Laurens and Aiken, SC before retiring in Newnan, GA., retirement never slowed her down. They both were active in the community and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Newnan, GA. She spent a lifetime hosting parties, rail side at the Aiken Steeplechase and in later years at Cumberland Village Assisted Living, sharing tea and her beloved recipes. If you were fortunate to know her you were blessed. Her door was always open with a welcome smile where kindness mattered.
Phyllis is survived by son, William Craig II, Newnan, GA; daughter, Sharon Craig Thompson, Aiken, SC; son, Joseph Craig, Ridge Springs, SC; and grandson, William (Brittany) Craig, III, of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Our gratitude to Augusta University Hospital and Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers gifts may be given St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 13600
