The Baggies have been and always will be a special group joined by the heartbreak of a brain tumor diagnosis, but we are more than that, 20+ years into our friendship and love for one another. I'm grateful that Joanne and I had the chance to meet many years ago over dinner and wine, and even though it was our first physical meeting, to have shared what we all had shared, we could immediately speak on a real and intimate level. She was smart and fierce, but her heart was bigger than everything else. I am so sorry, Fritz and Liz. I imagine Scott in her embrace now, and that brings me such peace. Willing you strength for the days ahead. Thank you for sharing her with us.

My wonderful friend. We were united by the shared sorrow of losing our sons… and I will never forget that after our son’s death, Joanne got on a plane and flew to the UK to be with us. We met on every trip I made to NY and once we had a glorious few days in the Fall on Lake Winnepesaukee, walking and talking and staying up late. She was a kind, generous and very human friend.and we spoke at a deep level from the very beginning. Everyone who knew her would say they were better for it and I will miss her dreadfully.
My heart goes out to Fritz and Liz.

Q: How did you meet Joanne?
A: I met Joanne 2 to 3 years ago when she became interested in feral cat colony care and rescue. Joanne became dedicated to working with a group of woman who were feeding and caring for these voiceless furbabies. She adopted two pets, Lily and Cece. I'll always think of her as a vivacious lady with compassion and a quick wit. I loved teaching her how to trap these kitties so they could get medical care when necessary. Here we were two retirees out in the woods keeping these animals safe from harm. I miss her dearly and will cherish the memory of her friendship.

To Fritz,
Sincerest sympathies to you on the passing of Joanne.
For years I have told you how grateful I was for the help she provided for my daughter years ago, and I have never forgotten that, nor will I ever.
Mat God bless her, you, and your daughter.
Love and respect,
