Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Kester Elliott

Mary Elizabeth Kester Elliott, 102,  passed away  on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at The Heritage at Lowman in White Rock, SC. 

Mrs. Elliott was born on Wednesday, June 14th, 1922, in Concord, NC, to the late Rev. Dr. Moses Lee  and Annie Little Kester. A graduate of Newberry College, Mary pursued a career as an accountant and was known for her meticulous attention to detail. She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Mary was the loving wife of the late Felix Ewing Elliott Jr. and the last survivor of her immediate family. She is survived by her devoted nephew and his wife, Tony & Rita Kester of Columbia, SC, along with their children, Elliott Kester, Stephen (Kelsey) Kester, and their son, Bennett Kester. Mary also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Kester Davis and 3 brothers, Virgil Kester, Carroll Kester & John Kester.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2023 at 2:00pm in the sanctuary of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Frank Anderson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church social hall.

Interment services will follow at 3:45pm in Southlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum,  4524 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Road, Aiken, SC 29803 in memory of Mary.
