Obituary of Martha Marina Moseley
Martha Marina Moseley went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2024 at the age of 97. She was the daughter of the late Hodge Moseley and Azalee (Raborn) Moseley. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister Mary J. Moseley in 2011. For most of their lives, many people they met could not tell them apart.
Miss Moseley is survived by many cousins from both sides of her family. Especially close to her were her cousins and caregivers Carolyn Folk (Jim) and Sylvia Raborn (Jerry). Although she was never married nor had children of her own, she was “mother”, “sister”, and friend to numerous individuals she knew along her journey.
Miss Moseley was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken, SC. She and her sister worked for over 40 years for Southern Bell (“The Phone Company”), beginning with operation of the old switchboards. Throughout her retirement, she would speak fondly of the individuals she worked with and maintained contact with them through retiree gatherings.
She was a life-time member of Levels Baptist Church. She loved her Church and Church family dearly and faithfully attended Church right up to the weekend before she passed. She was a strong, witnessing Christian who loved God. During her years at Levels, she taught class and played the piano for the Children’s Pre-School Sunday School Class, served on numerous committees, and sang in the Church choir. The Church family will miss her greatly.
She was a strong and independent individual and never missed an opportunity to share God’s Word. Her message never varied far from 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Services will be Saturday June 29 at 11:00 am at Levels Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Pastors for the service will be Clint Bartlett and Marion Britton.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Folk, David Byrd, Collin Morris, Alex Nguyen, Charlie Wilson, and Cameron Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Burkey, Perry Byrd, Greg Carter, Joe DeHart, David Moseley, Stephen Thomas, and the Adult II Sunday School Class.
