Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lee Boatwright will take place on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 6pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Pastor Eric Kincaid officiating. Interment will be private and the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5pm until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice or to Alzheimer's research. Mrs. Boatwright, 80, of Aiken, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A daughter of the late Mitchell Brown and Luella Hartley Brown, she was born in Lexington County and had lived most of her life in Aiken. She had worked as a dietician at the former Aiken Hospital and as a bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Machine. She will be remembered however as a "Mother to the neighborhood" as there were always kids at the house. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Brown. She is survived by her husband, Howell Boatwright, Aiken; a son, Jerry L. Bobby Jo Boatwright, Aiken; four daughters, Terry Ann Wayne Skinner, Goose Creek, SC, Cathie Rey Mark Jones, Windsor, SC, Brenda B. Jorge Alejo, Windsor, SC and Mary Frances Carpenter, Graniteville, SC; a brother, William Barbara Brown Lake Murray, SC, Louise Hartley, Monetta, SC, Ruth John Cavalari, Aiken, Lois Sammy Thomas, Aiken and Janice Brown, Batesburg, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one, great-great granddaughter. The family would like to thank Dr. Margaret Sanders and the CNA's that cared for Mrs. Boatwright, Missy, Tricie, Deborah and Dolores.
