AIKEN, SC – E. Thomas Cunningham III, 76, of Aiken, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on May 26, 2024. His legacy is carried on by his three sons, Tom IV, Sean, and Chirstopher Cunningham and his seven grandchildren. He was born in Chicago, IL  and raised in Park Ridge, IL with his siblings  Michael, Denise, Janice, and Kevin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael. He attended Memphis State University. He was a Union Plumber for 30+ years. He was also an avid golfer and shared his love for the sport with his boys. He was active in Boy Scouts with his sons. They often went on backpacking camp trips around the US. In his letters to his grandchildren, he would always tell them that the money was gifted for ice cream! He was a little league coach and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids. Often having “Heart to Heart” conversations about life and plans for the future. In his retirement years, he enjoyed golf and getting together with friends. He met his life partner, Stacy MacDonald in 2008. They moved to South Carolina where they built their home. He continued to enjoy many friendships and leisure activities.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 22, 2024 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234).
