Obituary of Billy Cranston Jumper Jr.

Billy Cranston Jumper Jr, 77, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Monday, April 15th, 2024, in Aiken Regional Medical Center following an illness. 

Billy was born on April 13th, 1947, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Billy Cranston and Irene Wilma Winter Jumper, Sr.

Billy proudly served in the United States Navy for over 20 years, with a dedication to submarine duty. He retired as a PO1/E6 and continued to support his fellow service members through various veteran organizations.

Outside of his military service, Billy was a devoted collector of antiques and collectibles, a skilled chess player, and a lover of golf and reading. He was a proud alumnus of Aiken Senior High, USC Aiken, and Clemson University.

Billy is survived by his sister, Judith Joan Shriver of Wabash, IN, and his niece, Amy Hicks Howell (Lantz) of Houston, TX, along with three great nieces and nephews, Leyton Howell, Carys Howell, and Kyra Howell.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday afternoon, April 19, 2024, at 2:00pm in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ASPCA 333 Wire Road, Aiken, SC 29801 in honor of Billy’s love of animals. Arrangements are being handled by George Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
