I knew Mrs. Steel since 1976, during my senior year in high school through my great friend Joey. I normally am fairly eloquent, but anything I might say is overshadowed by the love she showed me. She was a close friend of my mother's only sister who birth was only five days apart from Mrs. Steel in 1928. I understand that my mother being two years younger often tagged along. It is only fitting that Joey and I would become friends independent of knowing this. She was my adopted aunt, and I loved her just as much as any member of my family. She and Joey are very special to me, and all I can say is that my life is enriched by her kindness and affection, and now her memory. Joey, how fortunate we are to have had the mothers we had. We are truly blessed.
