Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Anthony (Tony) Mason (April 1947- February 2024)

Born to Dorothy and Millard Mason on April 25, 1947, Robert Anthony Mason, known as “Tony”, grew up in Lanett, Alabama, with his sister Dianne Robinson (Stanley) of Lanett, Alabama, and brother Greg Mason (Suzanne) of Atlanta, Georgia.

Growing up Tony grew to enjoy sports, hunting, a good dog and old trucks, but it was Judy Dale Mason of Valley, Alabama, that would capture his heart. They got married in May,1969, and would love each other through the ups and downs of life for the next 55 years. Tony and Judy would have two sons; Travis Anthony Mason (Lil) of Lexington, South Carolina, and Rev. Daniel Adam Mason (Rachel) of Durham, North Carolina. He is deeply beloved and will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Lucy Mills (14). McClain (13), Henry (9), Wells (8), Layla (7) and John Robert (4).

Tony served his country with pride for 25 years as an infantry officer/Special Forces division with deployments to Korea and Germany.  After retirement, he worked as a consultant for years with different technology companies, developing new technologies for warfare.

In all of his enjoyments and accomplishments, it was his love for people that superseded all. He never met a stranger and had a sense of wonder about people. He will be deeply missed, and while we on this side of glory feel the sting of his death, we know that Robert Anthony Mason (Tony) Husband/Dad/Brother/Grandad/Uncle/Friend is experiencing no more pain, no more suffering, and is with His Savior face to face.
