Deepest condolences to the entire Bright family.
Dave was always such a fun, kind, and supportive friend in every aspect of life, and certainly as a swimming colleague. His contributions to our beautiful sport of swimming, to NEM, and to the NELMSC communities are countless and they continue on through his legacy.
What will come to mind when I think of Dave is how he always made me feel important, seen, and heard. Even if it was only for a few moments at a swim meet, a brief conversation at a clinic, through an email, or simply from his warm hello, I always felt connected to Dave and valued as a person. It felt like to know Dave was to be a part of his extended family and what a gift and honor this was to experience. You will be missed, Dave, and remembered often and with great fondness and appreciation.

I am so sorry for your loss. I recall swimming with him in the 400 IM and he was my inspiration. May your family find peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Bright family. I have known David from the aquatic arena since 1974 competing collegiately and in Masters competition from New England, National and World Championships.
He was always a class act as a high level athlete. He always trained hard and competed successfully with grace. I had occasion to train with him at Freeport Y the last 5 years.
RIP David Bright, you will be missed!

As a fellow competitive swimmer I raced against Dave in college and masters swimming for over 50 years! From the 50 to the 1650 free, 200 back, 400IM and the hour swim I could never beat him! My only excuse was that Dave was three days younger than I am! He was a good friend to the entire Johnston family.
