Obituary of Brenda Barnett Rowland
Mrs. Brenda Barnett Rowland, 78, beloved wife of Bernard Rowland was ushered into the presence of her Savior on Friday afternoon, November 17, 2023, following an extended illness which she endured with courage and dignity. She is now free from pain and in the presence of her Savior.
Brenda was born on January 27, 1945, in Christiansburg, VA a daughter of the late Edward & Velva Smith Barnett. Mrs. Rowland served as church secretary for Millbrook Baptist Church for over 15 years until her retirement. She was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rowland is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and John Allen of Leesburg, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Maggie Rowland of Mooresville, NC; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Rowland of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Norma Guynn and Lois Walters both of Blacksburg, VA; grandchildren, Tian Rowland, Addison Rowland, Olivia Allen, Parker Allen, Kelton Allen, Darius Rowland and Daniel Rowland.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Dan Rowland and a brother, Douglas Barnett.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00pm. in the sanctuary of Town Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:45pm Wednesday at the church.
