Obituary of Vanessa Hall Rumberg

AIKEN, SC – Vanessa Hall Rumberg, age 61, died October 7, 2023.

Vanessa was born December 16, 1961 in Norfolk, VA to the late Walter “Bunky” Ray Hall and the late Linda Hall Morris.

Family and friends remember Vanessa fondly for her delightful laughter and her dedication and care for people, plants, and animals.

She loved to garden and two of her beloved pets, Petunia and Daisy, took on the names of her favorite flowers.

Vanessa is especially remembered for loving others well. Her wonderful laugh and compassion to serve others made the difference in the lives of many. She enjoyed volunteering with Celebrate Recovery and acting as a caregiver for older adults in need.

In addition to her parents, Vanessa was preceded in death by a daughter, Sabrina Diane Mikell and a brother, Bradley Hall.

Survivors include her sister, Samantha Lynn Bodie (Wesley); a grandson, Stephen Mikell; and her bonus children, Tiffany Mikell, Shawn Mikel, and Connie Mikell as well as several bonus grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 14 at South Aiken Baptist Church (980 Doughterty Road, Aiken, South Carolina). Visitation will be at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. The service will start at 11:30 am, led by Pastor Trevor Lightbody. All are invited to a lunch after the service at the church. Vanessa loved gathering for meals and we wish to celebrate her together.
