Obituary of Carolyn Faye Posey

Mrs. Carolyn Faye Moseley Cartin Posey, 82, widow of the late Charles Lindsey Posey passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, September 15, 2023, following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Posey was born in Aiken, SC on January 7, 1941, a daughter of the late Bradford Alexander & Dorothy Adelia Moseley. Mrs. Posey was a member of Levels Baptist Church. She was an avid card player and a checkers shark; but her most precious times were those when she was with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Posey is survived by a daughter, Angela D. Luke (Hugh) of Aiken; 5 sons, William D. (Cynthia) Cartin, Dennis V. Cartin, Edward Dewayne Cartin, James Darain Cartin & Michael Dean Cartin all of Aiken, grandchildren, Joye (Josh) Richardson, William J. (Jessica) Cartin, Noah Cartin, Ryan Cartin, Blake Cartin, Shianne Cartin, Hannah Cartin, Christian Cartin, Josiah Cartin, Alisha Cartin, Samantha Cartin, Katy (James) Wilson & Zachariah Luke; great-grandchildren, Whitten, Lauryn, Addison, Layla, Rohan, Ezra & Elijah.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Posey was pre-deceased in death by two daughters-in-law, Patricia Cartin & Barbara Cartin; three sisters, Helen M. Fogg, Betty Jean Williams and Gloria Margaret Ergle; and two brothers, Harold Moseley & Donald “Hun” Moseley.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the George Historic Downtown Chapel. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2524 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234.
