Gary liked to remind me that he was older than me. But it was only by one month. And I remember when we were the same height. I remember him now as a big, strong, quiet and kind man. He will be greatly missed.
I will always treasure being one of the bridesmaids at Donna and Gary’s wedding in 1974. Roselands was key to their falling in love and remaining loving lifelong partners. My memory of Gary is the constant patience and acceptance of his son’s loser friends crashing on couches whenever needed. Fun meals, watching football, pointing out logistical fallacies in whatever weirdo theory I was talking about at the moment. He was a great father and just someone enjoyable to be around.
