I was incredibly saddened to hear of Juanita's passing. I've known Juanita for 60+ years. My husband and I were part of the large group Juanita and her Bob were part of in ChampaIgn, IL There must have been at least 10 couples in our group and we all belonged to the Elks Club where we'd attend their monthly dances. In between the dances we'd take turns entertaining in our homes, going out to dinner, going to concerts and traveling together. Juanita and I went to California together without our husbands and later I would move there. Bob and Juanita also found a home in California but then decided they would look elsewhere. She loved to look at real estate and I doubt she passed up too many open houses as she loved to partake in a walk through. I lost track of how many times she and Bob would move until they settled in Aiken. Throughout the years we always kept in touch and shared our life's successes and struggles. I spoke with her shortly before she was diagnosed and then only two times after because it became too hard for her to talk. .
She was a lovely lady with a great style and just as beautiful on the inside. She was caring and loving with the most wonderful sense of humor. I will miss you Dear Friend and I'm so very sorry for your loss Patty. Hold onto all your wonderful memories. Mary Smith

I'll always remember your positive attitude and sense of humor. You began your connection with me through my wife, Connie, and I'm so glad to have had you and Bob in my life as well.
When I moved from Aiken in 2021 you took me for lunch at your club
and said, "well, this is I'll never see you again" luncheon. Truer words were never spoken. R.I.P. Dear Nita
