Obituary of Johnny Howard Reese

 Johnny Howard Reese, 81, beloved husband of Betty Louise Burkett Reese, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 29, 1942, in Aiken, SC, he was the son of the late Howard Fletcher and Maudine Emily Widener Reese. Mr. Reese was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was a retired heavy equipment road construction manager for over 39 years building highways throughout the south. He worked alongside many of the top constructions’ companies in the south, one of which brought him to his residence in Barnwell SC, Robert O. Collins Construction Inc. He retired from his extensive career with the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in 2004. He volunteered his time aiding the construction of recreational parks, which included softball and baseball fields in Aiken and Barnwell Counties. He along with his father (Howard) and brother (Dean) built thousands of miles of paved highways that are traveled to this day.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Allison Reese (Bobby) Hilton of Aiken, Pattie Ann Reese Lewis of Abbeville & Christina Reese (Jason Kinard) of Barnwell; 2 sisters, Sybil Reese Graham of North Augusta & Carolina Reese Evans of Aiken; a brother, Dean Arnold Reese of Aiken; 5 grandchildren, Candace Rebecca Edwards, Robert Michael Lewis, Reese Alexandria Lewis Butler, AnnaBelle Jane Hilton and Calee Beth Kinard; 2 great-grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reese was predeceased by two sisters, Emily Jane Reese Toole and Sara Elizabeth Reese.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00am in the sanctuary of Siloam United Methodist Church, Hwy 3 South, Barnwell, SC 29812.
