Obituary of John Aron Cooper

John Aron Cooper, 87, a resident of Cumberland Village passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Aiken Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born on September 24, 1935, he was the son of the late John Hurley and Creola Annette Aldridge Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a retired Claims Manager for AETNA Insurance Company. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David P & Julie Cooper of Aiken; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Scott Brown of New London, NH; grandchildren, Ivey (Niko) Tzetzis, Carrie (Charles) Dearing, Stephen Brown, Samuel Brown, & Corrine Cooper; great-grandchildren, Chloe Dearing, Carlee Dearing, Tommy Tzetzis & Ellie Tzetzis.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was pre-deceased by his wife, Jane Rogers Cooper and a sister, JoAnnette Allen.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00am in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 1310 Harmony Church Road, Monroe, GA.

The family will receive friends following the service. 

Memorials may be made to The United Leukodystrophy Foundation, 224 N. 2nd St, # 2, DeKalb, IL 60115, in honor of Mr. Cooper’s great-granddaughter, Carlee Dearing.
