Peggy Louise Payne, a devoted homemaker and caretaker, passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 79. Born on January 15, 1944, in Madison County, Georgia, she lived a life filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories. Peggy's kind spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all those around her.

Throughout her life, Peggy found joy in various activities, including cooking, bowling, and playing softball. These hobbies allowed her to express her creativity and competitive spirit, bringing happiness to her family and friends. Peggy's dedication to her loved ones was evident in her role as a homemaker and caretaker, always putting their needs before her own.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William B Payne, her son Billy Payne, her mother Lillian Smith, her father James C Sorrow, her sister Maryann Pickard, and her brothers James C Sorrow, Jr., and O'Dennis Sorrow. While she is deeply missed, her memory lives on through her surviving family members.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie M Dunagan (Norman Dunagan), and her son, Keith Payne. Peggy is also survived by her sister, Shirley Taylor, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her love and guidance will forever be treasured by her family, who will carry her legacy in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at The Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene. The service was officiated by David Miller, providing comfort and support to those in attendance. The interment was a private ceremony held at Magnolia Cemetery, where Peggy was laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene, located at 300 Lois Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093. These contributions will honor Peggy's memory and continue her spirit of generosity.

Peggy was a long-time resident of Warner Robins, Georgia, where she created lasting friendships and touched countless lives. She moved to Aiken, South Carolina in August 2020, but her impact extended far beyond geographical boundaries. Peggy's unwavering faith in God provided her with strength and solace, allowing her to face life's challenges with grace and optimism. She had a deep Christian conviction and found comfort in the belief that she would spend eternity in the presence of her Lord.
