Dear Bradford Family, The news of John having passed away prior to the Memorial of classmates who have transcended earth on the ultimate endeavor, "Going Home", the evening of the 30 year Reunion of Belle Vernon Area Class of 1978 was very humbling. I met John at BellMar Junior High. The Memorial statement in the 30-Year Class Reunion reads: "Gone from our sight, but never our memories-, Gone from our touch, but never our hearts." For Easter Sunday 2008 flowers, I wrote In Memory of: Those gone from our perceptions, yet are loved in our hearts, minds and spirits! John has made this list more fulfilling having added his name. I do wish that we could have met again before he traveled his new journey laying another brick paving the way for us to follow his example.

John always brightened my day when I saw him. His friendliness and kindness to everyone was inspiring. I remember one time he was upset that a customer had been unkind to him because of his disabilities. I told him, as I'm sure many others did, that most people saw his good qualities, not his difficulties.
John did more with his disabilities and shortened life than most people do who have plenty of abilities. I never thought of John as having disabilities - his goodness was more of an asset than any physical or mental abilities he may have lacked.
It was a joy to know John.

After pushing a heavy buggy around Kroger, it was always a pleasure to spend a few moments with John as he carefully bagged our groceries and shared with us his latest trip or his pride in being Greek and how much he enjoyed the Greek food at his family gatherings. His zest for life and wonderful smile were contagious and we ALWAYS felt happy after talking to him. We will miss irreplaceable John. Our sincere condolences to his mother and extended family. Dear Bradford Family,
I was shocked to learn of Johns passing. He was a JOY to be around and was always doing something fun enjoying his life. One simply could not be in a bad mood around him, or if you were in a bad mood it seemed to vanish after seeing him. What a great testament he was on how to treat other people. Dear Ms. Berti, Sally, and family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. He will always be remembered for his beautiful, contageous, and uplifting smile and personality. We are blessed, as God allowed us to know Johnny.
And obviously, as stated by so many others, they were too! I ran across this statement by Roy Lessin and I think it is befitting.
"When a stone is dropped into a lake, it quickly disappears from sight-but its impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broaden and reach across the water. In the same way, the impact of one life lived for Christ will leave behind an influence for good that will reach the lives of many others".
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Andrea, John, Carley, Brianna, Brenda and John Sr.

Our family was deeply saddend to learn of our long time friend's passing. We will always remember Johnny as a sweet, kind and loyal friend. He never failed to stop and visit while riding his bicycle through our neighborhood. We all enjoyed his great personality whether it was his fun rendition of "Funky Town" or his endless enthusiasm for Kennywood Park. We were sorry to see him move from the Mon Valley but were happy to learn what a fulfilling, accomplished life he has led surrounded by new friends and family. He lived his life to its fullest with his positive attitude. He was truly an inspiration and he is loved and will be missed by us all.

We had the pleasure of sharing Johns
Company since he arrived in Aiken.
Bill and John were both sad to part
when we moved to RI. Bill talked to
John regularly. They enjoyed each
other. We thank God for the Bradfords and will cherish Johns
memory always.

I really did not know John but he was always nice when ever I took my client shopping at Kroger. He was always very helpful to us. My prayers are with his family.

Dearest Sally and Ken,
I send my sympathy to you both and also to your mom Sally. I am at a loss for words , but Johnny knows and loved you all, and that you only wanted the best for him. He tried but it was not possible to stay with you any longer. I guess God, needs him right now. IT is always hard to loose the ones we love, and now you have to take care of each other. Remember Johnny with fond memories and love. If you need anything, I am here. Will have you all in my thoughts and prayers...

While I and my brother Brandon have been going to Providence for more than half a year and are now members of the church, we didn't get to know John that well during this time. When I heard that he had passed on it was pretty sobering. It reminds you that death is inevitable for us all and our life is like a "vapor that appears for a little time and vanishes away." But us, as christians, we don't mourn like those without hope. James 4:13-18 says, "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." I hope that Christ will comfort you by His grace and Spirit through the scriptures in this hard time.
