I met Dave 'online' through the AACA forum. I got to know him a little better by offering what little I knew during his rebuild of the Studebaker after his front end mishap. I was (as well as everyone else) highly impressed with his skill level and workmanship in putting the car back together. Not to mention the trials and tribulations he had with the insurance company. I was fortunate enough to meet and spend the day with him at Hershey. I only live 100 miles away and was concerned about driving my 1977 car there, I could not imagine taking a 2 day trip from SC in an old Studebaker! I followed his trip as he posted updates of his travels. During our visit we got to know one another a bit better. I learned how proud he was of his daughter and her horse expertise. I gave him the moniker of my adopted uncle. I was very much looking forward to his trip north again this fall for another meetup. I have talked to a lot of people on car forums, got to 'know' them through emails and phone calls. Dave was a bit more in that he became a 'real' person to talk to. I will miss his insights and enthusiasm.
