I was shocked and heartbroken to hear of the unexpected passing of “Greg the bartender” whose wit and sarcasm made our weekly happy hour visits to Fatz even more enjoyable. He knew where we sat and what libations most of us enjoyed, but was always willing to suggest something different. Our group met his lovely wife at least once, and we all said she must have had the patience of Job to put up with him! Our most frequent conversations were about his young daughter, whom he referred to as “Chicken Noodle!” He always referred to our tips as Chicken Noodle’s college fund. At one point he mentioned where his parents lived (near where I went to under-grad college) and that they were coming to visit. I jokingly said that I would love it if they found some Genesee. Cream Ale and brought it (and I would pay them back). He warned me that it would “taste like swill” because of the long trip, and he was right, but he did ask them to do it. We were all disappointed when Fatz closed as we would miss Greg’s antics, but somehow I am sure he is keeping them laughing up in heaven. Cheers, Greg!

Greg was so much fun to be around at Fatz. We decided we only went to Fatz on days he worked. I remember we celebrated his 50th birthday at Fatz. One thing we did was make a bouquet with 50 lollipops that said 50 Sucks. We also was so happy to hear he was going to be a Dad. We had a Baby Shower for him at Fatz. We always enjoyed the photos he would share of Deborah and as he called his daughter "Chicken Noodle". I know he touched many lives and will be missed.
