Obituary of Sandra H. Wohlers

AIKEN, SC – Sandra H. “Sandy” Wohlers, age 79, passed away February 21, 2023.

Sandy was born May 17, 1943, in Rochester, NY to the late Stowe and Betty Richards Hodges. She received her undergraduate degree at Cazenovia University and her master’s degree from SUNY Brockport. She spent her career as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Sandy had made Aiken, SC her home for the past twenty years.  She was an avid equestrian and loved the horse community of Aiken. She was a member of Coed Book Club, enjoyed cooking, and anything to do with the water. She especially loved swimming and going on cruises. Sandy was the author of several children’s books. Sandy loved her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include her companion of twenty-five years, Scott Urban; a son, Eric French; three daughters, Michelle Paczynski (Jim), Allyson Urban, and Kelsey Urban Greer (Chris); grandchildren, Adam, Rachel, Alex, Elizabeth, Kali, Nathanial, Ella, Clara, Milo, and Raiden; one great granddaughter, Scarlett; and a special aunt, Paula Richards.

A Celebration of Life Reception will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at George Funeral Home.
